Fraud! Just how big is the problem?
It is reported that every year some 1.3 billion pounds worth of identity fraud is committed, this effects in the region of 600 People every single day within the UK, it is not just the UK that face this problem. In America the scale of identity theft is increasing year on year, in the region of 100 million Americans a year have been a victim of identity theft, this is an astonishing figure and one which shows no sign of reducing.
Credit and Debit Card fraud alone cost in the region of £535 million pounds, this figure increases by around £100 million year on year. The chart below shows the top 25 identity fraud hotspots in the UK.
